Laser welding is an efficient and precise welding method using laser beam with high energy density as heat source. Laser welding is one of the important applications of laser material processing technology. Is mainly used for welding thin wall material and low speed in the 1970 s, the welding process is thermal conduction, i.e. the laser radiation heating surface, the surface heat to the internal diffusion through heat conduction, by controlling the width of laser pulse, energy, peak power and repeating frequency, parameters such as melting of components, to form specific molten pool. Due to its unique advantages, it has been successfully applied in precision welding of micro and small parts.


China has reached the international advanced level in the laser welding, with the use of laser forming more than a dozen square meters of complex technology and capability of titanium alloy components, and a number of domestic aviation scientific research project of prototypes and products manufacturing. In October 2013, China welding experts won the highest academic award in the field of welding -- brooke award, and the level of laser welding in China was confirmed by the world.
